Why choose a Winter Wedding?

There’s something magical about Central London in winter – the dazzling Christmas lights, cosy pubs with warming fires, and even the possibility of snow!

Winter wedding venues in London are becoming increasingly popular for a number of reasons, including…

  • More availability – By choosing an off-peak month for holding your wedding, you’ll typically have more options when it comes to choosing a venue and a date. This way, you won’t have to compromise on your dream wedding day.
  • Higher guest attendance – During the summer months, your guests are more likely to have holidays planned, so by hosting your wedding in the winter, it will mean higher guest attendance so you can celebrate with all of your favourite people.
  • Creative venue decoration ideas – The winter months provide a great opportunity to get creative with how you decorate your wedding venue! From candles to mood lighting, fairy lights and warmer floral arrangements, the options are endless.
  • Embrace the season – From Halloween to Bonfire Night, Christmas, New Year, and right up to Valentine’s Day, there are plenty of dates you can take inspiration from.

We asked our Event Sales Manager, Heather Sabonjian, what she loves about winter weddings, and she said: “I love winter weddings for their cosy feel. Warm tones like red and burgundy work beautifully, especially for bridesmaids. You can also enhance the atmosphere with seasonal décor like Christmas trees and lots of fairy lights to completely transform the venue.”

No.4 Hamilton Place’s Winter Charm

From November, our Mayfair wedding venue is decked out with a Christmas tree and festive decorations, providing a gorgeous backdrop for your wedding reception and celebrations. Our suppliers can create an enchanting ambience with flower installations and additional festive décor to embrace the season.

We asked Heather if there’s anything she’s seen past clients do for winter weddings that has stood out, and she said: “We’ve had clients host a mulled wine station on the terrace, paired with charcuterie grazing boards laid out on tables for guests to enjoy. I’ve also attended a black-tie wedding that was pure glitz and glamour, with lavish table décor featuring tall centrepieces of red and white roses accented with gold foliage. This style would work beautifully at No.4.”
